My Bible journaling took a new turn when I bought a new Bible from a local thrift store. I jazzed it up with some decorative duct tape and washi tape. The front and back are covered in this polka dot duct tape,  the side is covered with pink polka dot washi tape.  The first page of each book I put a strip of washi tape along the side and folded it over to the back.  The tabs are for pages that I have done journaling on. I have had fun working in my new Bible. I'm not going to talk about all the ones I have done in the past, but I will post pictures of them below for you to look at. As I continue with this however, I plan to post about a certain scripture and how it's talking to me and affecting me with my life. I strongly believe that journaling is an awesome way to begin a new spiritual walk and help bring your focus to a certain area. I have greatly enjoyed my new Bible journaling adventure. When I first started I was using a basic sketch journal because I didn't want to write or mark in my nice Sunday morning Bible. I figured this would be an easy hobby for me to get into since I am creative and some what artistic. Cover of my sketch journal. Esther 4:14 My church started a class on Monday nights where anyone can come and journal together. The leader picks a verse, but if you have something else on your heart you may work on that. The first week the scripture was Roman 8:11 "The spirit of God who raised Jesus from the dead live in me". I was confident I was going to leave class with an awesome piece of artwork; however, I'm not proud of how my skills failed me that night. Back in May my parents purchased us an outdoor kennel (size 5 x 10; plenty of room for two little beagles) as a graduation present for me. We were super excited to use it since the dogs wouldn't have to be caged up when we were gone for long periods of time.  Not to long after we installed it BO had surgery to get his manly hood taken away (this is important later). One beautiful Saturday, four days after his surgery, my husband agreed to go to town and do errands with me; which he absolutely hates doing on weekends. Before we left we put BO in his cage inside the house with his little plastic cone on his head to prevent him from licking his incisions. We didn't want him together with Daisy because we didn't want her licking him; so she went in the outside kennel.  We just had one last stop to make at home of economy to look at a dog igloo to go in their kennel for extra shelter and privacy. My husband and I had been talking about buying the dogs life jackets for a while. On Friday I was driving past Petco and decided it was time. The weather was suppose to be wonderful this weekend (and it was!) so I planned a little day trip to the lake for us. We packed up supplies -Water and lots of it -Dogs collapsable water bowl, this is a wonderful investment for us. I got mine at Petco, but these from Amazon are pretty much the same thing for half the price.  -Dog food. We pre measured and let them eat out of the tupperware we stored it in. -Life jackets for the dogs. We weren't sure how they would do swimming so we went with the safe route and invested in life jackets. How adorable are these ???  -Towels for everyone -Snacks and lunch for us. We stopped at the gas station and grabbed some lunchables. Pizza are the best! -Swimsuits for us. Because I knew we would have to get in the water with them. WARNING! This will be a long and personal post. I will not feel offended if you are not interested in listening to how my weekend went. However, I do have a lot of pictures so feel free to look at those and read the captions.  We had a super busy fourth of July weekend. We had family visiting (on my side of the family) from Colorado and Indiana. My mom also got home from a long vacation to Cambodia so it was a full house around here. It was also the first fourth of July we spent with the pups. My grandparents also have a smaller dog named Bucky, and my parents have a large black lab named Dixie. They enjoyed the backyard and getting attention; however, Bucky wasn't a fan of having new friends over at his house.
