Happy Easter

Family Picture: This was probably take seventeen or something crazy like that, but hey at least we got a family picture right? The puppies got a new toy (Easter present) to play with while we went to church in the morning, and then some family time before we left for my parents house. They also got to enjoy a huge rawhide stick that afternoon because I felt so bad leaving them on a holiday. Jeff claims they didn't care, but I did so I gave them all the goods. Spoiled pups!





Daisy is wearing her pink and sparkle sweater (the sequence are on the back and wouldn't show up in a picture). BO is wearing his signature bow tie of course! He was actually sad when I put Daisy in her sweater and he didn't get to put his on. I was pretty mean since normally wearing a sweater means we are going on a walk, so he probably thought he wasn't going with. But no I was just crushing their dreams and making them dress up for a picture. On a positive note, my teal wall has made for a wonderful photo backdrop!

Back in May my parents purchased us an outdoor kennel (size 5 x 10; plenty of room for two little beagles) as a graduation present for me. We were super excited to use it since the dogs wouldn't have to be caged up when we were gone for long periods of time.  Not to long after we installed it BO had surgery to get his manly hood taken away (this is important later). One beautiful Saturday, four days after his surgery, my husband agreed to go to town and do errands with me; which he absolutely hates doing on weekends. Before we left we put BO in his cage inside the house with his little plastic cone on his head to prevent him from licking his incisions. Lesson #2 Independence Day Decorating

I love holidays and decorating for holidays; be that as it may, I am to much of a procrastinator to actually get decorations up before the holiday gets here. Unless it's Christmas, since I normally decorate for that around Thanksgiving. My plans for the 4th of July this year were big - for every decoration I was making for myself I was going to make another one to sell. Hmmm well since the fourth is only six days away I would say I'm not doing very good. I did get one project complete and I started another one yesterday My complete project is my holiday coasters. I made these last year for Valentine's Day and St. Patrick's Day; last years coasters were not good quality at all so I tried something different this year and I like them a lot more. Materials:  Plain white kitchen/bathroom tiles. I got mine at home depot because of the military discount. Pinterest Fail #1 - Wine Bottle Painting

I mentioned in my last post that I was working on another Independence Day decoration. I still haven't completely finished it, but I'm close enough. The idea with this project is to paint wine bottles (or sparkling grape juice bottles in my case), to resemble the American flag. Pinterest Idea: Of course, I couldn't find a blog or website that actually told me how they made this; so I took it into my own hands. I already had the bottles and was feeling confident that painting them wasn't going to be an issue.  I don't have a picture of the bottle before painting, but I'm just going to assume you have seen a glass bottle. Okay, moving on. While I was at my dad's house this weekend I grabbed some wooden dowels (pictured above), this made painting the bottles fairly easy; you get better coverage and you don't have to be careful where you set it while it's drying.
